Duʿāʾ the Qurʾān teaches

أدعية القرآن

Supplications the Qurʾān gives to be said, rather than quoting from a named speaker. They are here because they belong on a complete site, and separate because attributing them to a prophet would overstate the text.

لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَا ٱكْتَسَبَتْ رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَآ إِن نَّسِينَآ أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَآ إِصْرًۭا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِۦ وَٱعْفُ عَنَّا وَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَآ أَنتَ مَوْلَىٰنَا فَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Rabbanā lā tuʾākhidhnā ʾin nasīnā ʾaw ʾakhṭaʾnā rabbanā wa-lā taḥmil ʿalaynā ʾiṣran kamā ḥamaltahu ʿalā alladhīna min qablinā rabbanā wa-lā tuḥammilnā mā lā ṭāqata lanā bihi waʿfu ʿannā waghfir lanā warḥamnā ʾanta mawlānā fa-inṣurnā ʿalā al-qawmi al-kāfirīna

English · Marmaduke Pickthall Allah tasketh not a soul beyond its scope. For it (is only) that which it hath earned, and against it (only) that which it hath deserved. Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget, or miss the mark! Our Lord! Lay not on us such a burden as thou didst lay on those before us! Our Lord! Impose not on us that which we have not the strength to bear! Pardon us, absolve us and have mercy on us, Thou, our Protector, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk.

Türkçe · Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır Allah hiç kimseye gücünün yeteceğinden başka yük yüklemez. Herkesin kazandığı hayır kendisine, yaptığı kötülüğün zararı yine kendisinedir. Ey Rabbimiz, eğer unuttuk ya da yanıldıysak bizi tutup sorguya çekme! Ey Rabbimiz, bize bizden öncekilere yüklediğin gibi ağır yük yükleme! Ey Rabbimiz, bize gücümüzün yetmeyeceği yükü de yükleme! Bağışla bizi, mağfiret et bizi, rahmet et bize! Sensin bizim Mevlamız, kâfir kavimlere karşı yardım et bize.

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

Rabbanā lā tuzigh qulūbanā baʿda ʾidh hadaytanā wa-hab lanā min ladunka raḥmatan ʾinnaka ʾanta al-wahhābu

English · Marmaduke Pickthall Our Lord! Cause not our hearts to stray after Thou hast guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Thy Presence. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Bestower.

Türkçe · Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır Ey Rabbimiz! Bize ihsan ettiğin hidayetten sonra kalblerimizi haktan saptırma, bize kendi katından rahmet ihsan eyle! Şüphesiz ki, Sen bol ihsan sahibisin.

وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِىٓ أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Rabbanā ighfir lanā dhunūbanā wa-ʾisrāfanā fī ʾamrinā wa-thabbit ʾaqdāmanā wa-inṣurnā ʿalā al-qawmi al-kāfirīna

English · Marmaduke Pickthall Their cry was only that they said: Our Lord! forgive us for our sins and wasted efforts, make our foothold sure, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk.

Türkçe · Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır Onların sözleri ancak: "Rabbimiz! Bizim günahlarımızı ve işlerimizdeki taşkınlıklarımızı bağışla ve (yolunda) ayaklarımızı diret, Kâfirler güruhuna karşı da bize yardım et!" demekten ibaretti.

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَٰجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍۢ وَٱجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا

Rabbanā hab lanā min ʾazwājinā wa-dhurriyyātinā qurrata ʾaʿyunin wajʿalnā lilmuttaqīna ʾimāman

English · Marmaduke Pickthall And who say: Our Lord! Vouchsafe us comfort of our wives and of our offspring, and make us patterns for (all) those who ward off (evil).

Türkçe · Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır Ve onlar ki: "Ey Rabbimiz! Bize gözümüzü aydınlatacak eşler ve zürriyetler bağışla ve bizi takva sahiplerine önder kıl" derler.
